AGM 2013 and Rosie Sanders talk

On 7th January we met for our annual general meeting where we welcomed our new vice chairman, Anita Pearman. Our chairman, Ros Franklin, spoke about what a busy year 2012 has been for the Florilegium, with our new website up and running, our first exhibition at Eden, many talks, walks and workshops and a trip to Leicester to celebrate the achievements of our outgoing chairman, Mally Francis. Some of the Eden staff joined us to chat over lunch and view this year’s painting submissions.

After lunch we had an inspiring talk from Rosie Sanders who talked about her very varied career including much commercial work producinggreetings cards and the illustrations we see on much of our food packaging.  Rosie is probably best known though for her book documenting apple species and her much larger than life stunning paintings of irises and other flowers.
