A three day botanical painting course at the Sawpit studio

Hello everyone,

Many thanks to all of you who have kept going through this strange time and joining me online to share paint and plants. I have been so surprised at just how much is possible on Zoom and it has been a treat to be able to regularly see lovely people from all around the country, and even overseas. I do plan to continue the online classes in some form as long as there is a demand for them.

However, I have deeply missed our beloved Sawpit studio and being able to see all of you in person, especially those who can’t join the online classes. So, it is with great pleasure that I can tell you about a return to the Sawpit in Heligan Gardens so that we might once again meet and paint and relax in its beautiful surroundings.

I will be running a three-day course from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th September looking at ‘Late Summer Colour’, of which there should be plenty at the start of this month. I’m hoping to bring flowers such as Japanese anemones, crocosmias, schizostylis and hydrangeas or anything else that is inspiring and good to paint.

There will be a few changes in the Sawpit to keep us all safe, with numbers capped at 8, tables spaced well apart and plenty of hand-sanitiser, spray cleaners and socially-distanced working. We will ask everyone to confirm each day that they are well and have no symptoms.

We will still have our delicious two-course lunches provided, but these will be individually portioned and covered and we will be eating at our desks in the studio to minimise risk.

The course will be £200 including the catered lunches each day. Plant material will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own projects to work on if you wish.

If you are interested in the course please contact me for information and booking and to let me know of any dietary requirements.

Best wishes and keep painting!
